Keystone
Keystone offers over 3,148 skiable acres, an 11.5-hour ski day, and A51, one of North America's largest night terrain parks. In the summer, visitors and locals enjoy two 18-hole championship golf courses. Ski under the stars and lights, enjoy the Wine Jazz and Art Festival or relax along the seven miles of the Snake River that runs through town.
Frisco
Frisco is surrounded by the White River National Forest and bordered by the shores of Lake Dillon, making it the perfect setting for a Summit County adventure. Few quaint mountain towns also offer the scenic beauty and water recreation, such as kayaking, sailing and canoeing, that Lake Dillon provides. In addition, its central location between Summit County and Eagle County ski areas and a world-class bike path system make Frisco a natural choice for year-round living.
Breckenridge
Breckenridge has a Victorian-inspired Main Street, a family-oriented atmosphere, and breathtaking natural beauty and is the classic Colorado ski town. Enjoy countless outdoor activities in winter and summer because Breckenridge averages over 300 days of sun each year and over 300 inches of snow each winter! With an array of ski-in/ski-out housing opportunities, you can open your front door and go. In addition, the resort ski runs come right down into town, so you can even ski to your favorite restaurant for lunch!
Silverthorne
Silverthorne received its name from Judge Marshal Silverthorn, who staked his gold mining claim in the valley in 1881. The "e" was added to the name in the 1930s because it was considered fashionable and chic. Over 100 years later, Silverthorne continues to be "the gateway to Summit County," as it is less than an hour's drive to Denver. Four of Summit County's world-class ski resorts are within 20 minutes, making the town an ideal place to visit and live.
Dillon
Dillon is perfectly situated on the scenic shores of the Lake Dillon Reservoir, with recreation, entertainment, relaxation, and pure fun all at your doorstep. Aside from being an excellent, central location for embracing Summit County's winter activities, Dillon bustles with summer events for all ages, from the Friday morning Farmers Markets to the popular weekend concerts at Lake Dillon Amphitheatre.
Copper Mountain
Copper Mountain with 2,450 acres, is Summit County's largest ski area. At Copper, you can enjoy Colorado's first high-speed detachable six-passenger chairlift, the "Super Bee," and an award-winning trail system that naturally separates snow riders by their ability levels. The Village at Copper is a pedestrian-only, high-alpine community with spectacular Colorado views. In the summer, you can hike, bike and golf on a championship course.
Park County
Park County is home to North America's highest incorporated town, Alma, at an elevation of 10,578. If you want the rugged, quiet nature of a small town but close to world-class skiing and the hustle and bustle of Breckenridge, Park County is the place for you. Located by the Mosquito Range and just over Hoosier pass from Summit County.
Leadville
Leadville is known for its vibrant mining history, high elevation and down-to-earth culture of its community. It is known for some of the most unique events, including Burro racing, horse-drawn skiing and one of the most famous endurance races, the "Leadville 100." Nestled in the San Isabel National Forest, the mountain views are breathtaking, and the outdoor recreation activities are not for the faint of heart.
Buena Vista
Buena Vista boasts longer summers with world-class water sports and stunning mountain views. Enjoy white water rafting, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding or go to Paddlefest and enjoy a little of everything. Buena Vista also has some of the best bike mountain bike trails. The Collegiate Peaks rise directly out of the valley, creating an awe-inspiring view. Soak up the hot springs beneath the white cliffs of Mt. Princeton or enjoy camping near the old ghost town of Saint Almo.
Twin Lakes
Twin Lakes is a quaint town located at the base of Colorado's highest peak, Mt. Elbert, and on the shores of the Twin Lakes. In the summer, the East entrance to Independence Pass takes you to Aspen in only 36 miles. It is wild yet quiet and provides the solitude to enjoy the outdoors in a truly unique way.
